ISTE Standards

1 ) What are your thoughts on the ISTE Standards?

– I believe the ISTE Standards are served as a guide as to how teachers can implements technology in the classroom. I typing it is a great guide to use if a teacher ante to know how she can use technology in their teachings. The world in which we live in, has a huge demand for technology. These standards are a great way to take the steps and use the order to have a successful classroom with students that understand these technologies.

2) Is there a need for national standards for teachers to follow for implementation and utilization of technology in their teaching and assignments for students? Why?

– I do believe that there should be someone kind of standard for teachers to follow to implement technology. I believe this, because there are so many different technologies coming about every single day. Some of us are more technologically inclined than others. The fact of the matter is, going into something so complex, blind, without any kind of guide, we will find ourselves a bit lost. I do think that if a teacher has some sort of guide to go by, students will be more successful in the integration of technology in the classroom.

3) How do you think you can implement these standards in your classroom? Use any 3 of the 7 standards and give examples of how you will use the standard in your content area.

– There are so many different ways one can implement these standers in their classrooms to implement technology. Of the seven, I would use designer, learner, and citizen. I’d use designer because it allows me as an educator, do design assignments which not only engage the students, but allow them to feel comfortable in their learning variability. I would use learner, by allowing myself to learn ways to improve technology in the classroom. I would also use citizen because I feel that it is important to inspire students to use the digital world and make sure they understand how important it is.
